Tubo de Garachico is one of the deepest caves in the Canary Islands, featuring a 150-meter volcanic tunnel with skylights and impressive rock formations. The tunnel has a single pathway, allowing divers to safely explore its length without the risk of getting lost. The cave’s distinct volcanic structure and skylights create an unforgettable, illuminated landscape.
Starting at around 12 meters and descending to approximately 26 meters, the tunnel’s structure is a long, narrow volcanic tube with skylights that allow beams of natural light to penetrate its depths. The surrounding area of the dive site can reach depths of up to 30 meters. The topography is defined by rugged volcanic walls shaped by ancient lava flows, offering a unique, dramatic scene beneath the surface.
While Tubo de Garachico is primarily explored for its remarkable geological structure, various marine species are often encountered within the tunnel. The tunnel hosts small invertebrates, while further inside, divers might spot damselfish, black stingrays, and lobsters, shrimps adding vibrant marine life to the captivating underwater terrain.
