Our Open Water Course is designed to give you the skills and knowledge to dive confidently to depths of up to 18 meters. Whether you choose PADI or SSI, both certifications are internationally recognized, allowing you to dive anywhere in the world. Knowledge Development
You’ll learn the fundamental theories of scuba diving, including dive safety, underwater communication, and equipment handling. You can choose to complete this portion in the classroom or online through PADI eLearning or SSI Digital Learning, providing flexibility to suit your schedule.

Confined Water Dives
In this section, you’ll practice essential scuba diving skills in a controlled, shallow water environment. Our expert instructors will guide you through exercises such as buoyancy control, mask clearing, and emergency procedures.

Open Water Dives in Tenerife
The best part of your training! You’ll complete four exhilarating open water dives in the clear, warm waters of Tenerife, where you'll explore vibrant reefs, encounter sea turtles, rays, and a rich array of marine life. These dives will allow you to apply the skills you've learned in real diving conditions.

You don’t need to be an expert swimmer to take the Open Water Course, but basic swimming ability is required. To enroll, you’ll need to demonstrate your comfort in the water by swimming 200 meters, using any stroke or technique. There’s no need for speed or perfect form—just the ability to swim the distance at your own pace.

The PADI and SSI Open Water Diver Courses at LoCura Diving usually take 3 days to complete. We offer flexible scheduling options to fit your holiday plans. We also provide private or group courses with a partner or friend—book together and each of you will receive a €20 discount!

Before starting your course, you'll need to fill out a medical questionnaire to ensure you're fit to dive. If any of the questions are answered "yes" a physician's approval will be required before you can proceed. At LoCura Diving, your safety and well-being are our highest priorities.
